Stereogum Gains a Sister

Just saw this over at Politico of all places -- Gawker Media is selling its music site, Idolator, to Buzznet, the parent of the long-running New York-based music blog Stereogum.

In addition, they're also selling GridSkipper to Lockhart Steele and the fine folks at Curbed, and they're spinning off Wonkette to that site's managing editor Ken Layne. (To be honest, I haven't read the latter since Ana Marie Cox left.)

It'll be interesting to see what becomes of these sites -- especially Idolator, which despite posting updates like crazy has never really become a "must-read" site for me.

Now, now, Steve, no more reading of National Journal competitive publications, please....

Interesting that Wonkette will now be part of Blogads, which does network ads for Daily Kos and other political blogs.
