Boston + Stryper = Unstoppable Rock

How did I possibly miss this back in September?

Michael Sweet, the lead singer of Christian hard rock band Stryper, has joined the venerable rock band Boston. So too has Tommy DeCarlo, a fan who posted Boston covers on MySpace and subsequently was discovered by the band (yep, just like the dude from Journey).

Sweet and DeCarlo will apparently be trading vocal duties on tour this summer in place of Brad Delp, who passed away last year.

Wanna hear what it all sounds like? You're in luck - the band had made audio from one of their early rehearsals with Sweet available for streaming. Check it out.

Hmm.... maybe if I post some audio of me singing Paradise City I might have a shot at the vacant Velvet Revolver gig. (Sidenote: For anyone who has ever heard me do "Paradise City" karaoke - and there are about 40 of you, with about 35 of you being in Japan - you'll know the odds of this happening are very, very, very, very slim.)
