Monday Night in DC

Considering that it's a Monday, and that this is D.C. we're talking about, there are a surprising number of interesting rock shows around town tonight. If you're not rushing to catch up on episodes of Two and a Half Men before they come back with post-strike episodes, then I recommend hitting at least one of them.

I include Blind Melon on this list solely because I used the adjective "interesting", not "good".

Iota: These United States (CD release party) - recommended
Red and the Black: The Muggabears, Sisters - recommended
Black Cat (Backstage): Limbeck, John Ralston, House of Fools
9:30 Club: Blind Melon, The Sketches

I couldn't find an MP3 to link, but check out Limbeck's cover of Screeching Weasel's "Teenage Freakshow" at their MySpace page.
