UPDATE: R.E.M., The National, Modest Mouse Tour

Edited to add the NYC date listed by R.E.M. HQ

Brooklyn Vegan has the specific details on the tour I mentioned the other day. Looks like all three bands are actually touring together simultaneously, begging the question... who's the opener?

May 23 - Vancouver, BC - Deer Lake Park
May 29 - Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Bowl
May 31 - San Francisco, CA - Greek Theatre
June 03 - Denver, CO - Red Rocks Amphitheatre
June 06 - Chicago, IL - United Center
June 08 - Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
June 10 - Raleigh, NC - Walnut Creek Amphitheatre
June 11 - Columbia, MD - Merriweather Post Pavilion
June 13 - Boston, MA - Tweeter Center
June 14 - Long Island, NY - Jones Beach
June 18 - Philadelphia, PA - Mann Center
June 19 - New York City, NY - TBA
June 21 - Atlanta, GA - Lakewood Amphitheatre

No word yet as to on sale dates that I can see.

There's no way the National aren't opening: Modest Mouse = big radio hit; the National = not so much. Sorry!

I'm sure you're right, but I just don't like Modest Mouse at all. I guess I'll just got to the beer concession between the National and REM.

Not too surprising. The last time REM toured in the summer-ish months, they did outdoor venues. Matt and I saw them at Jones Beach in early October 2003 (?). Holy crap was it cold, especially with the wind coming off the water.
