Zookeeper Tonight at The Red and The Black

Zookeeper is the new project from Chris Simpson of Mineral and The Gloria Record, two of my favorite bands of the last decade. Unlike those bands, however, Zookeeper has very little to do with emo -- instead, the band has a looser, organic, rollicking Americana vibe. However, like those earlier bands, though, Zookeeper is pretty great.

The band's debut album, Becoming All Things, was released on the Belle City Pop! label on November 6th [BUY]. I'm currently trying to figure out where it fits on my year-end list.

The band is playing tonight in Washington D.C. at The Red and The Black. If work permits, I plan on being there. They're also in New York, Boston and Chicago over the next week or so, so be sure to catch them if you can.
