New Pornographers Playing Soho Apple Store
Haven't seen this anywhere yet... apparently The New Pornographers are playing a free in-store set at the Apple Store in Soho on Tuesday, December 11th. Show starts at 8pm, but you're probably gonna want to get there a whole lot earlier to make sure you get in.
I think this puts us at about Reason #1,214 why I miss New York.

You miss standing in line for hours with a bunch of trust fund brats for the chance to see a band play in a computer store? I know what you mean (that a band like NP would really only do something like this in a BIG city), but I don't miss the insanity likely to come with trying to attend something like this.
Think of those free shows at the World Trade Center or the Battery Park shows on July 4th. Sure, great bands doing free shows in fun locations, but what a freakin' hassle for just the chance to go. I have a job, I can't take a day off to go wait on line. Apparantly a lot of people In NYC can.
Anyway, here's yer soapbox back
Good point. The free shows are usually a zoo in New York. I kinda forgot about that since I've been self-employed for a while now, and forgot how much of a pain it is to try to get out of work early just to go stand on a freaking line.
So, yeah, you're 100% right.
But I still miss New York. :^)
