Snapcase Reunite for Callum Robbins
As you probably know by now, J Robbins' (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, etc.) son, Callum Robbins, was diagnosed last year with spinal muscular atrophy, an incurable nerve disorder. There have been a number of concerts and other events to raise money to help the Robbins family meet their medical bills, and now there's another - hardcore band Snapcase are reuniting for one night to play a benefit for Callum.
In addition to the benefit aspect, the show will also celebrate the release of The Anti-Matter Anthology by author Norman Brannon. If you're too young to remember, Anti-Matter was a leading punk 'zine from the 90's (I only barely remember it). The book will apparently collect a bunch of the best articles from Anti-Matter's run.
The show is on November 24th at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. There's a pre-sale package if you want to both buy a ticket to the show and buy a copy of the book. Public tickets will then go on sale on October 5th.
I was never a huge Snapcase fan, but if I were in New York, I'd probably try to hit this show.
