Parts & Labor
So I'm admittedly a little late to this party, but I'm in the process of completely and utterly falling in love with the latest Parts & Labor disc, Mapmaker. I used some month-end eMusic credits to pick up the album last week and finally got a chance to listen to it in the car today. Holy crap it's good.
The comparison may mean nothing to most of you, but I hear the band as having a lot of similarities to the dearly departed Juno, but with less atmospherics and a lot more ass-kicking. It's frenetic, driving and loud, and it very well may end up on my top 10 list at the end of the year.

You can buy Mapmaker http://www.partsandlabor.net/merch.html">here for a low $10. You can also listen to more from the band on its website and its MySpace page.
They have a bunch of live dates coming up, including an opening spot with Les Savy Fav at the Bowery Ballroom on 9/22, but nothing in D.C. Damn.
