The Frames @ Town Hall, NYC [4/24/07]

Way too tired to post much about tonight's Frames show right now, other than to say it was, as usual, excellent. That said, I hope that this whole Town Hall thing was a one-time event. I just don't like that room. It sucks the life out of even the best bands.

PS: Wow, has it really been a month since the last concert I went to? That sucks. No way do I let that happen again.

I thought the sound in there was fabulous, probably the best I'd ever heard for The Frames. From now on, I'm always going with the front of the balcony at Town Hall. The view is spectacular (and close), and the sound just seems to carry better up there.

That said, the place definitely engenders a mellow show, but given that they played so much from the Cost, inlcuding a lot of very mellow stuff, thought it worked well.

Great acoustics, I really enjoyed the show. I agree it seemed very mellow for one of their concerts, though it didn't help having a snoozer experimental band (Doveman) as an opener. Sound wise it was the best of the five times I have seen them; energy wise, not. But great as always nevertheless.
