News From Nashville

Couple of interesting news items from Nashville's Theory 8 Records.

First, one of the more promising young bands I've heard in the past couple of years, De Novo Dahl, managed to flip their van on ice yesterday while driving home from a show in Washington D.C.. Everyone is OK, thankfully, but the band's van and various instrumentation were destroyed. No word yet on whether those silly outfits survived or not.

Second, Forget Cassettes has signed a European deal with One Little Indian Records and Tangled Up Recordings (home to Bjork, The Twilight Singers and The Pernice Brothers), and will be releasing their excellent Salt album in Europe on March 5th. The band will be touring Europe with And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead in February and March. The band is now a two-piece with Beth and former/now-current drummer Doni Schroader (who also drums for Trail of Dead). Former Bassist Jay Phillips is focusing more time on his band, Apollo Up!m and drummer Aaron Ford is touring with Bobby Bare Jr.

De Novo Dahl, "All Over Town"
Forget Cassettes, "The Catch"
