Robert Pollard Coming to Bowery Ballroom (11/13)

Robert Pollard has announced dates for a November tour in support of his forthcoming album, Normal Happiness. The tour includes a stop here in NYC at the Bowery Ballroom on Monday, November 13th. Guess that means I'll be at Bowery two nights in row - Lucero is there the night before.

No word yet on when tickets go on sale. By the way, take a look at who's opening the Dayton show. Glad to see the boys have made up. Oh, and I'd love to see that Baltimore show, if only to see if Jon Wurster (Bob's drummer) and Mac McCaughan (Portastatic singer) hook up for a couple songs. If you've been living in a cave, they are also 2/4 of Superchunk.

Tour Dates:

Thurs., 11/9: Bloomington, IN- Bluebird (w/ Nassau)
Fri., 11/10: Chicago, IL- The Abbey Pub (w/ Nassau)
Sat., 11/11: Dayton, OH (19 something and 5)- The Foundry (w/ Mitch Mitchell's Terrifying Experience and Murder Your Darlings)
Mon., 11/13: New York, NYC- Bowery Ballroom (w/ Starling Electric)
Tues., 11/14: Philadelphia, PA- World Cafe Live (w/ Starling Electric)
Wed., 11/15: Baltimore, MD- Sonar (w/ Portastatic)
Fri., 11/17: Boston, MA- Paradise (w/ Starling Electric)
Sat., 11/18: Northampton, MA- Pearl Street (w/ Richard Davies)

Thanks to Matt for the heads up.

How'd I miss the porta-thing?!? We are absolutely going to that one, especially because you have to expect a few Go Back Snowball tunes. By the way, just ordered the Starling Electric record from their My Space page. The songs are excellent. Very bedroom psych, a la Bee Thousand, though more psych than rock (think Elephant 6). Plus they're from Ann Arbor. Speaking of which, Vandy gave you some trouble there, my friend....

Vandy gave us no trouble. Vandy is a joke. Vandy scored once, on a trick play.

Our offense sucks, pure and simple, aside from Mike Hart.
