Late Lunch Blues

A few interesting things to take note of..

New Ryan Adams songs. What, you thought he'd rest after 3 albums last year? Not so much. Head over to Ryan's website to check out the stream of the new song "France". I'll join the chorus of folks saying that parts of the song sound like they were lifted from the Clash, the vocals sound like he's going for a Julian Casablancas thing, and, all in all, it's kinda blah.

I Am Fuel, You Are Friends has live MP3s of three more new songs that Ryan debuted a few days back. Haven't listened to those yet. Hope they're more compelling.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! have posted two live tracks on their website from a recent show in Europe:

"Upon This Tidal Wave of Young Blood"
"Heavy Metal"

By the way, tickets for much of the band's fall tour (outside of NYC) went on sale via pre-sale today.

Sparklehorse have posted a song called "Don't Take My Sunshine Away" from their forthcoming album on their MySpace page. Good stuff.

Golden Smog have unveiled their new website. They even have a "tour" page, though no dates are listed. Maybe there will be a full tour after all?

Portastatic has a posted "Sour Shores" from their forthcoming Be Still Please album on their MySpace page. The MP3 was previously released to Pitchfork a couple weeks back.

Dirtnap Records is going to be releasing a demos/unreleased song compilation from the late, great Exploding Hearts. Pitchfork has the details.

Finally, for those of you not joining me at Lollapalooza this weekend, you can check out a bunch of the bands (including Ryan Adams) via the festival's webcast.
