Go See and Hear Live Music

On the "seeing" front:

Birdmonster has announced a show at the Knitting Factory on July 1st. Tickets are $8 and are on sale now. Just bought myself a ticket. I've heard great things about their live show, and can't wait to see them for myself. If you still haven't heard them, go check out a few songs at their MySpace site.

Another of the current "it" band among the blogs, Cold War Kids, are doing a three-night stand at Pianos this week. I had no idea. They're playing tonight, tomorrow and Wednesday. I'm gonna try to go tomorrow (i.e., Tuesday). It doesn't look like tickets are being sold through Ticketweb, so you'll want to get there on the early side to make sure you get in.

New York's hottest new band, Le Firm, is playing this Saturday at the Knitting Factory. Tickets are available here. Tell a buddy, bring a friend. And go get ready to rock by listening to some songs at their MySpace site.

And, finally, Sonic Youth is playing CBGB on Tuesday, June 13. Tickets are on sale this Friday at 10am. While I'm not a huge fan, it would be cool to see them at such a small place, so I'll probably go if I can get a ticket..

On the "hearing" front:

I Am Fuel, You Are Friends has some great live Ryan Adams today. She has audio from Ryan's San Francisco gig last week (including 2 new songs), as well as some video from his "after-party" show with Phil Lesh. Awesome stuff. Check it out.

Is it true Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers have brought suit against Le Firm in order to keep their music out of stores in France?
Love the Sunday's Best songs. Never heard 'em at the time.
