This One Goes Out to the Bloggers

It always brightens my day when my favorite music blogs all seem to hit the jackpot at the same time (i.e., have tons of good links on the same day). It also means that my own posts can kinda fly on auto-pilot, which makes it much easier when I'm having a busy day at work. Today is one of those days. So go listen and enjoy!

The Rawking Refuses to Stop has three great links:

(1) Outtakes from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (original post is at The Perm & The Skullet).

(2) The new Misson of Burma song, "2wice", which is bruising.

(3) The new K-Fed song, "America's Most Hated", which is amusing.

So Much Silence links to two great live shows today:

(1) Neko Case at the 9:30 Club last night over at NPR. They have Martha Wainwright's opening set too.

(2) Elbow from KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic last week. I still can't decide whether I like this band or not. Hopefully this set will help a bit in that regard.

Chromewaves spotlights a New York band I've never heard of, Daylight's for the Birds, and links to two songs. I really like these songs, especially "For Now." They're apparently playing Tonic here in NYC next Tuesday the 18th. Will have to look into that one.

"To No One"
"For Now"

Bradley's Almanac has the entire set from the Silver Jews show in Cambridge last month. Go check it out. He says that, according to someone he spoken to, this is the show that the band "finally came together."

Said the Gramophone links to a song from recent buzz-band Bishop Allen today called "The News From Your Bed".

And, finally, Brooklyn Vegan shares the good news: free shows from Okkervil River (Thurs. 7/13) and The Hold Steady (Thurs. 7/27) coming up at Castle Clinton.
